Pallet Town

This small coastal hamlet is located just south of the beautiful Viridian City, and directly north of Cinnabar Island. Although it lacks any major landmarks, Pallet town still draws significant traffic due to the Professor Oak Pokemon Laboratory being centred on the town border. Due to this, many families bring their young trainers here to start their adventure as a Pokemon Trainer. The town is built almost entirely out of ancient cottages and estates that have stood the test of time, with their solid stone architecture holding up against anything the environment can throw at it.

Viridian City

Viridian City, also known as the Evergreen City is the gateway to the Indigo Plateau, and is fabled for having the most challenging gym in all of Kanto. The city itself is one of the largest in Kanto, having built itself up from a farming settlement, taking advantage of the rich forestry and exotic bug pokemon that mass around it's endless forest of evergreens. The northern road connects Viridian City to Pewter City, weaving through a dense forest packed with bug and grass pokemon. Although it was originally a farming town, Viridian City has begun to modernize, with modern condos and high rises beginning to establish themselves in the City Centre.

Pewter City

Pewter City is a small, industrious settlement that established itself around mining and excavating the mineral rich Mt. Moon. The unique fossils and artifacts the excavation of the nearby mountain yielded, as well as the abundance of Moonstones it produced, lead to scientific experts flocking to the town, establishing the Pewter City Museum of Science. Pewter City's Gym is the first stop on the Kanto Gym circuit, and prides itself on utilizing the unique Rock type pokemon found in the region. The town is still largely modeled after it's days serving as nothing but a mining settlement, with many residents being roughly constructed workman's shacks that were reinforced and modernized.

Cerulean City

Resting in the shadow of Mt. Moon, Cerulean City is a cool oceanic city establishment, with a seawater inlet on it's north shore that leads directly into the ocean. This inlet, along with access to the eastern coast through Route Nine provides Cerulean City with some of the most Diverse water Pokemon in the region. Many People travel to the city to fish for the more exotic catches in the area because of this. Cerulean City Gym exploits the wide array of water pokemon available to the district, going so far as to channel sea water directly into the gym from the northern inlet. Like it's neighbor Saffron City, Cerulean City is highly modernized, with many sterile high rise towers of gleaming marble and polished glass that house the city's sophisticated and wealthy residents.

Vermilion City

Vermillion City was originally erected as a vacation resort. Cruise ships would land, guests from foreign lands would stay and enjoy the view and then depart for their next exotic location. Over time, demand for permanent residents to be established for some of the wealthier members of society rose to such a point that the resort was eventually converted into a small hamlet for the rich and wealthy by popular demand. This hamlet rapidly blossomed into what is now one of the largest and most vibrant cities in Kanto, with it's sleek Oceanside views drawing in everyone with enough money to afford it's exorbitant prices. Vermillion City Gym, in stark contrast to Cerulean City Gym, chose to focus on electric type pokemon, countering the local water pokemon instead of embracing them. The architecture of Vermillion City reflects it's routes; Solid steel and concrete structures with beautiful marble and mahogany interiors, indicative of it's origins as a place of luxury.

Lavender Town

Lavender Town, unlike Pallet Town or Pewter City, which started small but caught attention which drew in visitors and residents, has a stigma that has kept it the smallest official residence in Kanto. The few residents that live in this ghost town work the nearby power plant and vital infrastructure needed to keep the rest of Kanto in power. Most of the town is consumed by one monolithic structure: Pokemon Tower; a twenty story high pokemon graveyard, where trainers from around the world come to bury their deceased pokemon. Due to this, the tower is as one would expect, overflowing with Ghost and dark pokemon of every flavor imaginable, which reek havoc on the small town. The few shacks left in Lavender town are entirely wood, with clear patch work repairs done to fix rotting support beams and crumbling infrastructure. The only part of the town not in ill repair apart from the Pokemon Tower is the Pokemon Center.

Celadon City

Celadon City, while being one of the smaller cities in terms of landmass and physical structures, has the largest population in Kanto. It's landmass is filled with tightly packed highrise apartments and stores. As the city houses both the Celadon Department Store, the largest market in Kanto, and the Celadon Game Corner, Kanto's only legal gambling center, it is without a doubt the wealthiest city in the district. Celadon City Gym specializes in Grass Type Pokemon, which it sources from the nearby forestry. It's apartments are cramped, making the most of the city's accommodation demands and limited space. Because of this, every inch of the apartments are designed to have utility, with entire rooms built into the walls to maximize space.

Saffron City

Saffron City is the heart of Kanto. Serving as the connection point for Cerulean City, Celadon City and Vermillion City, it has the most foot traffic, and as such prospers greatly from tourist activity. Saffron City houses the nation's Magnet Train Station, which connects it to Goldenrod City in Johto, making it the primary entry and exit point of the nation. Saffron city is by far the most technologically advanced city in Kanto, serving as the heart of the nation's scientific knowledge, and even housing Silph Co. Headquarters, one of the leading Pokegoods manufacturers. Due to the city's position as a crossroads, Martial artists gather here, forming the largest fighting style Dojo in Kanto, serving as an unofficial ninth gym. The City's actual gym, however, is centered around Psychic pokemon, exploiting the natural wealth of psychically gifted pokemon found around Saffron City's borders. The city is defined by sparkling highrises, with sleek glass building faces everywhere. The slick, sterile apartments are flushed with the latest in modern technology, cleaning themselves and even cooking meals automatically.

Fuchsia City

Fuchsia City is a small town that cropped up around the exotic local wildlife, with it's residents almost exclusively working towards preserving and safeguarding the rare pokemon in the district, ensuring they are able to be captured in limited numbers that don't effect their population growth. It also houses one of Kanto's Pokemon gyms, which specializes in fighting using poison and status effects, skills which were mastered by the local trainers who needed to contain and manage the wildlife without harming them while establishing the Safari zone. As one would expect of such a City, it's properties are modest wooden houses that are well kept by the gifted workers they house.

Cinnabar Island

Cinnabar island is unique among Kanto, being the only place to house an official pokemon gym that is not a town or city. The Cinnabar Island Gym is established inside the mouth of an active volcano, where trainers are expected to fight some of the region's most fierce fire type pokemon. Apart from the Gym, the only other thing found on the island is a small pokemon Centre built specifically for challengers of the gym.

Indigo Plateau

The indigo Plateau serves as the final destination for those seeking to conquer the Kanto Pokemon League. If a trainer gifted enough to acquire all eight pokemon league badges wishes, they may fight their way through Victory road to reach Indigo Plateau, where they can then challenge the Elite Four, and, if they can defeat them, face the Pokemon League Champion to challenge him for his position. The Indigo Plateau is a self contained city, with hotel facilities, specialized stores and a pokemon centre, ensuring that each challenger is at their best when challenging the champions found within.
