General Rules Social11

Warning: certain offensive words will be used as examples of rule violations. This is done purely for clarity purposes to remove any possibility of pleading ignorance. Punishment is determined on a colour scale, which is explained at the bottom of the rules.

1.1: Flaming in any form is not tolerated. Flaming is hostile and insulting interaction between users, often involving the use of profanity. Disrespecting staff members also counts as flaming, as does excessive use of profanity. Flaming is a Blue offense.

1.2: Racial discrimination, including using racial slurs such as Nigger or Chink is not tolerated under any circumstances. This is a Red offense, and as such warrants a permanent ban.

1.3: Sexual discrimination, including using anti-homosexual terms such as Faggot or Lesbo is not tolerated. This also includes expressing a desire for people a certain sexual orientation to be treated differently or to have less rights, or any language that would make an individual of that sexual orientation feel uncomfortable. This is a Red offense, and as such warrants a permanent ban.

1.4: You are expected to conduct yourself with an air of decorum at all times. As such, intentionally being rude towards another user of the board in the chatbox or a post will not be tolerated. You are not expected to get along with everyone, but you are expected to act like an adult, and that involves behaving with civility at all times. This is a Green offense.

1.5: You are not to harass any user on the forum, this includes unwarranted sexual advances or persisting in flirting with an individual after they have expressed a desire for you to stop such behaviour, as well as sending someone insulting and offensive personal messages after you have been asked to stop. This is a Yellow offense.

1.6: Proselytizing your religious or political beliefs within the chatbox is not tolerated. The chatbox is not for debate, it is for casual discussion and as such topics of this nature belong in the appropriate sections of the forum, via PMs or on a private communication system such as skype. This is a Blue offense.

1.7: You are not to post direct links to sexual or excessively vulgur content under any circumstances. This includes hardcore pornography and "Goreporn" such as decapitations, suicides and footage of murders or accidents where excessive injury is involved. Links to mild nudity are tolerated but must be within a spoiler box marked as Not safe for work. They also cannot be image tagged, and must instead be a link to where the content can be viewed to ensure nobody can accidentally view it. This is m Orange offense.

1.8: You are not to post links to illegal content such as torrents of movies or games or how to acquire such content, or hold discussions where you teach people how to break the law by stealing digital content. This is an Orange offense

1.9: You are not allowed to advertise another forum in the chatbox or outside of an official advertisement section under any circumstances. This includes linking to another roleplaying website in the chatbox or a post outside of an advertisement section, as well as via personal messages. You are also not allowed to refer to another website by name in a manner that encourages individuals to join and partake in it. Direct linking in any form to another roleplaying website is a Red offense, while referring to another website via name in a manner that encourages individuals to join and partake in it is an Orange offense.

1.10: While in the chatbox, you are not to use image tags, as posting images in the chatbox violently distorts it and ruins the experience for other users. This is a yellow offense.

General Rules Postin10

Note: All Social rules apply to posts in the forum unless the specific section you are posting in states otherwise [for example, advertisement is allowed within the advertisement section]

2.1: When creating a thread, you must tag it appropriately. Tagging a thread is putting certain text within the title of the thread to clarify it's purpose for staff and other users. Here is an example thread title:

Entering Viridian Forest! [Open] [No Battles]

the [Open] and [No Battles] on the end are tags. Tags indicate what you can and can't do with a thread. For example, an open thread means anyone can join the thread, while no battles means no trainer battles can commence in the thread. Here is a complete list of all accepted tags:

Tags:

2.2: One liners are, as the title implies, posts that are incredibly short. A good rule of thumb is, if your post is less than 100 words: it's too short. Posting one liners is a waste of everyone's time, and as such if you do so in moderated threads like gym challenges, the moderator has every right to make the leader refuse to battle you or end it without warning. This is a green offense.

2.3: Godmodding is a term that basically means playing god by controlling another person's character. For example, if I make you or your pokemon do something in my post that you didn't do in your post, or change something from how you said it was to match how I want things to be, I'm godmodding. A classic example of Godmodding is using an attack, then saying the attack hits. An automatic hit gives the opponent no chance to defend or react in any way, and is therefore a form of godmodding. Godmodding is a yellow offense.

2.4: Power Playing is essentially roleplaying unreasonably. If your opponent of equal strength is attacking you and you just effortlessly dodge all their attacks over and over, that is power playing; you're playing as though you are overwhelmingly powerful. It's not fair or fun for anyone involved, and removes any skill involved in roleplaying. Even people with a statistical advantage aren't invincible, and they cannot be played as though they are. Taking hits and losing is as much a part of roleplaying as winning and being a badass is. Power Playing is a yellow offense.

2.5: Meta gaming is bringing Out of Character knowledge into your In Character knowledge. The character you are roleplaying as only knows what it has experienced, and therefore cannot know certain things. For example, if an individual you are roleplaying with mentions what they're thinking in their post, you know that but your character does not, and having your character know this is meta gaming. The pokedex you are automatically given contains basic information on all towns and pokemon, meaning that knowledge can be used in character without meta gaming. Meta gaming is a yellow offense.

General Rules Cosmet10

3.1: Avatars cannot exceed a width of 170 pixels and a height of 310 pixels. Nudity or gore in any form will not be tolerated. Violation of the size limits is a green offense, while violation of the nudity or gore is an orange offense.
Avatar size example:

3.2: Signatures cannot exceed a width of 600 pixels and a height of 400 pixels. They cannot contain links to competing websites, nor their names. It also cannot contain nudity or gore in any form. Violation of the size limits is a green offense, while violation of the nudity or gore is an orange offense.

General Rules Offens10

A note on offenses: As each case is unique, any staff member can at any time choose to adjust the punishment one way on either end of the spectrum. This means if you commit a yellow offense, the staff member can  choose to punish it like a yellow offense, but they can also punish it like an orange or blue offense depending on the severity of the violation. Offenses also stack up, meaning two greens is a blue, while two blues are a yellow.

Red Offense: A Red offense will result in a permanent IP ban of all your accounts, with all your characters dying and their pokemon being released into the wild.

Orange Offense: An orange offense warrants a temporary ban spanning between 24 hours and two weeks, depending on the digression of the staff member handling the case.

Yellow Offense: A yellow offense warrants a temporary or permanent ban from the chatbox, as well as a permanent mark on your account. Punishments including deduction of Pokedollars or items may be associated with a yellow offense depending on the judgement of the staff member handling the case.

Blue Offense: A blue offense warrants an official warning which will be marked on your account. If the violation occurs within the chatbox the staff member can temporarily chatban you for up to 48 hours to allow the situation to defuse.

Green Offense: A green offense warrants an unofficial warning which will not leave a mark on your account.
